As an adjective it is an older English word than our noun, meaning "fine, excellent, great" and we have, for example, the 16th century term "rum booze" (again in OED) for "good liquor," among many other similar uses of rum leaning "good." So "rum-bullion" was obviously a name meaning "an excellent (refined) boiling, or boiled drink."

Welcome to the virtual home of the The Rum Club. This site, as with the club itself, is a place to share opinions, get info and revel in the lore, legend, myth and mystery that is Kill Devil, Rumbustion, Ron, Rhum or Rum...

Founded in Trailer Happpiness in London's fashionable and rum-friendly Notting Hill (www.trailerhappiness.com) The Rum Club meets officially once a month but members can indulge on almost any night of the week.

There are now chapters in various cities around the world including Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland.

Like any fine spirit the early version of The Rum Club may have rough edges and a fiery nature but will develop, age and mature with the efforts of its many members. Managed by Rikki, Shaun, Wally, Tim and the others but run by its members all suggestions are welcomed and encouraged...
